Much has changed over the years, the many, as well as the few. Some planets and space stations thrive beyond expectations, others are ruled by war and famine. The alliance, once founded to protect and serve, now merely sits by and only tends to its own needs. Job's are hard to come by and more than most consist out of long hours and poor pay. It shouldn't come as a surprise that people search for alternatives. The BHOdyssey is such an alternative. The retrieval of wanted items or people, hunting dangerous criminals and scavenging abandoned spacecrafts. In short, let me warn you for the job of a mercenary is a dangerous one,- and least of all legal by alliance law,- but damn the pay is good!Ratings: Mature for Violence. ★ Ship and Crew:
In short the BHOdyssey (B.H. Odyssey as it is spelled upon the ship) is a mercenary ship. The longer version; it's not just any spaceship. Its engines are powerful enough to launch the vessel into hyperspace, the outer hull of the ship protected by the latest Ion Shielding and defense artillery that would make most seasoned ships creak in fear.
The BHOdyssey works under its own laws, this means that neither the ship nor its crew aligns itself with any political or military party, which in turn means that operations may or may not be legal depending on the situation, and unless employed, it will not receive immunity nor protection.
The crew will practically be living upon the BHOdysey, which means that each member has his or her own cabin (look at Upper Deck). Most crew members are required to have their own customized space suits (personally funded). Nonetheless, the ship does carry additional space and explorational suits/gear. In addition, it also carries a worker ship and a fighter jett.
Being a mercenary ship, the BHOdyssey mainly focusses upon retrieval, bounty hunting and scavenging, as such there is a need for (specialized) combat trained personnel and so on. To keep the ship and its crew operational there is also need for a mechanic, a pilot and of course a doctor.

★ The Galaxy:
The RP will take place within several galactic systems that have core and viable rim planets, as well as mining and space stations. (You are free to make up and describe the planet or station your character comes from.) Upon most worlds and stations the main languages are English and Chinese, but this does not mean that they are the only ones. Several planets have a bastardization of the one or two with asian, french and german influences, if not, a completely new language all together.
★ The Alliance
The Alliance was formed to provide protection and political diplomacy in order to prevent war between the planets and galactic systems. Over the years the Alliance has begun to fall from its original cause. It has become a force no one likes to mess with. Their operations have grown more secretive as they tightened their grasp upon the reigns, making it clear that they are the prime rulers of the Galactic systems instead. Diplomacy has grown scarce as the army officials have grown accustomed to beating down any possible threat.
★ The Technology:
Naturally technology has changed over the years, there are guns with solid ammo, laser guns and so on. Since it is the future you're free to let your imagination run wild while describing your weapon, but don't go overboard, no zapping people with your eyes. If you decide to create a whole new technology like steam-guns or something, please run it through everyone in the OOC thread first. The technology regarding spacecrafts has advanced phenomenally, there is hyperspeed, ion shielding, artificial gravity. Medically there are cryonics-based systems and cybernetic implants/limbs, but there is still no instant cure for any ailment or injury.

All people who apply for this RP will automatically be considered; Aware of the rules of this roleplay and the rules of Creative Freedom. He/she will keep being considered aware of the rules while posting within this roleplay. If you do not abide by these rules I might be forced to ask you to leave.
★ Guidelines:
There is a rating within the intro post that states; mature and violence, it's there for a reason. Respect each other, do not put people down because they made a mistake, help them. Dare to be original, do not steal pictures or information from other peoples characters. You will find a guide on how to apply under this post. You may adapt your character sheet during the roleplay. Oh, and before I forget; Having fun writing is mandatory. Mwoehahaha!
★ Roleplay Rules:
High-end Beta, Alpha writing skills required. Read replies, correctly and use a spelling and grammar check. Keep your grabby hands off someone else's character, unless you got their permission. This is no porno roleplay, you can write how it leads up to the deed, but please keep the fully graphically detailed, steamy sex scenes in your pm box. Violence, cursing, gore, allowed. If you are here, you know this isn't a kindergarten.
Please post at very, very least once a week, more is preferred. If not because you're on vacation or have real life stuff, let us know. If not for no reason, I will remove you and your character after two weeks of silence. Don't ever! Post a single OOC message within the IC thread. I will most likely accept no more than six people and two characters per person. Yes, I'm an ass when it comes to the rules.

★ Posting Rules:
When it comes to replies: Watch your grammar and typo's, there's free grammar check programs on the web. I am not a grammar-nazi nor am I native to the english language, but I would appreciate it if you put some effort in writing your reply. Post with a minimum of 150 words! This means I want to see some juicy pieces of text. (You dont have to write entire book worthy chapters either though...) If you fequently post replies below 150 words I will probably kill you, if not, your character.
Regarding a posting order. There isn't a strickt order, but this isn't a one on one so please give other people a chance to write a reply as well. Feel free to notify us when you're writing a reply and wish for people to wait until you've posted. Communication is key!
When it comes to your post setup: I do not want to see any fully colored pieces of text popping up. Coloring the sentences that are actually being "said" is fine. However, no overly-bright or faded colors that make things unreadable. Also keep your letter size between 85-100 pretty please. Using a character picture within your post to make it look fancy is fine, but you're overdoing it if your picture is bigger than your reply. If you need codes, feel free to ask me for help. Also, it would be nice if you turn off your signature, [Yes all the fancy stationary or spastic, seizure inducing, adorable, glam and glittery signatures] to prevent page-stretching and distractions.

★ Application Guide:
To make sure a role is not sniped away from under your nose you may 'Reserve' a job first. Do so by posting in this OOC thread. When you want to reserve a job be sure to add the general idea you got for him/her in a few sentences. If not or I find the idea lacking, I will not reserve the spot for you. You may combine jobs or make one up yourself, but keep it practical, a doctor cant preform surgery if (s)he also has to fly the ship away from imminent danger.
If you wish your character to have some sort of relationship, [be it friends, family, romantically involved or what not] with an already existing character, do please discuss this with the proper owner in the OOC thread or by PM. This is encouraged! I'm sure no one will bite you if you ask politely. Also, be minded to check the rules and the information. Before I forget; please write your characters information from a third persons view.

Don't be intimidated by the codes, all you need to fill in are the '✂ explanation' parts. You can exchange the #000000 with your own color code. ★ The Facts.
His name is Celtis Gwaidhin, male, twenty-eight years old.
★ Role and Skills.
Celtis is the Captain of the BHOdyssey and an ex-military trained sniper. In addition he received standard training in camouflage, field craft, infiltration, reconnaissance and observation. As acting captain within the military he has learned a great deal about command and making key decisions to ensure the safety of his crew. When you want the definition of disaster, it would be Celtis and hand to hand combat. Figuratively speaking he could shoot the wings of a fly, but he wouldn't be able to dodge a fist even when it's thrown in slow-motion.
★ Appearance.
Celtis stands 6'2 feet tall and has a lean body with a long torso. He stopped cutting his hair (other than the dead ends) after he left the military, which is why it reaches well over his shoulders. Another recognizable feature about him would be a pair of mismatched eyes, on first glance there isn't a that much of a color difference, but the left one is clearly blue whereas the right one is green. On his left side, halfway down his ribcage, along his hip and towards his abdomen he has a tattoo of a dream catcher. He also has a couple of scars here and there, the biggest one across his left collarbone.
When it comes to clothes Celtis likes to stick to his own clothing regulations; No uniform required, but keep it practical. He usually wears a pair of jeans and whatever single colored shirt or tank top that found itself on top of the pile in his closet. Over this he likes to wear a casual suit coat.

★ Characteristics.
People have always described him as a man with a mature and responsible personality. They should've met him during his childhood years... Off-duty he is open and friendly, someone who doesn't mind listening to anything you have to say and on occasion, he likes to tease people or joke around. Some may consider him crudely honest, Celtis would argue that people don't like being told the truth and he simply won't lie. That doesn't mean he would refrain from abusing the fact that people are prone to fabricating their own stories and draw their own conclusions, he'd gladly twirl around the point when has something to hide or someone to protect. Although acting formally might be what he has been taught within the military, his respect still has to be earned.
Once in the field play time is over and you will see a far more serious side of him; stern, strict and to the point. He would never play around in a high risk situation and tends to consider the safety of his men a top priority, oft placing their health above his own. He is quick to react upon sudden changes and will place his own instinct above protocol. Despite his sister accusing him of being defiant and stubborn, he always takes responsibility for his own actions and crew. When things don't go as he wants them to, he's no stranger to foul language.
And lastly, the rarest, would be a cold and detached side that allows him to do the job he does. Arguably a direct result of a past upbringing by his grandfather, it is not a part of him that likes to show to people and even less live to tell the tale. In this state of mind Celtis does not discriminate between friend or foe, if they are to cross him, he will not hesitate to take them out. Still, there is one trait that runs like a red line through his entire personality and that is that he is very principled, which makes him, especially when cold and detached, as predictable as he is dangerous.

★ Biography.
Most of his life Celtis lived upon Kaha'ii, a core planet within the third galactic system. It is a technologically advanced planet and, despite having a treaty with the alliance, still has control over its own legal system and military force. Frankly, it's one of the richest independent planets within the known systems. That aside, he was seven when he, his mother and uncle, moved there. Any information regarding Celtis his whereabouts before this are strictly confidential. His uncle joined the military and by the time he was nine his mother married an important political figure and a well respected scientist. Barely a year later his kid sister: Conuanna was born.
When Celtis turned eleven his uncle took him out for his first sniper lesson and he has been hooked ever since. As many children that age he was easily impressed by the stories of a legendary sniper squadron that kept the galaxy from harm at the end of the great war and during the founding of the alliance. This was why he took the first chance he got to transfer into a military academy as soon as he was allowed to. Still, it wasn't until after he graduated that he became accustomed to his serious demeanor.
At the age of eighteen he joined the Kaha'ii military and got accepted into a sniper division soon after. Despite barely passing disarming and hand to hand combat, he excelled in marksmanship, having had the advantage of years of training provided by his uncle, he was quick to surpass the scores of even his most seasoned superiors. Reaching the age of twenty-one,- and with a bit of support from his uncle,- he got promoted to officer. Shortly after he signed up to join the alliance.
It took him two years to get accepted into the Namtar, an elite squadron that runs covert operations for the alliance. Unfortunately Celtis never liked to have people think for him, the 'shoot and don't ask questions' mentality required within the Namtar didn't sit well with him and he left the squad barely eight months in.
At the age of twenty-four he got promoted to first lieutenant, but assumed command during a compromised mission. To assure the safety of his men, he ignored a direct command from a ranking major and ordered his squad to retreat. For this he was court-martialed, but standing his ground that the major had acted upon outdated protocols and information, the verdict ruled in his favor. Unfortunately the damage had already been done, as most people already knew Celtis to be crudely honest at times, he had a falling-out with the major in private quarters and was discharged from service.
With a sense of injustice, failure and quite the bitter aftertaste about the alliance, he disappeared off the grid for about a month. That was until his kid sister found him in a sleazy spaceport bar. Really, she was fifteen, six years from the legal drinking age and had no bloody business being off-planet. If he ever catches the son of a gun who let her through... Long story short; she managed to drag him back home to Kaha'ii
For the next few months he took up a job as an instructor at the military academy he was taught at. It was a confined lifestyle that didn't suit him and he took up a freelance job as a bounty hunter at the suggestion of a friend. His uncle decided to give him an old warship, which his sister dubbed the BHOdyssey. By this time he was twenty-six and despite his mothers protests, he was quick to turn to bounty hunting,- and taking up mercenary jobs for bounty hunting alone did not provide enough money to live from,- as his new way of living. Now, about two years later, he has his own crew and an ever growing reputation.
★ Secrets.
Technically it isn't much of a secret,- since it's not exactly easy to hide,- but Celtis doesn't like cats. To be more precise, he's dead scared of the fuzzy and adorable creatures with razor-sharp claws and pointy teeth. Also, Celtis has a pretty high pain tolerance, but isn't much of a drinker, when it comes to alcohol or drugs (recreational or even painkillers) he is a massive light-weight, no tolerance what-so-ever.
What could be considered a secret is the seven years of his life before he moved to Kaha'ii. The only thing Celtis would ever admit to, is that they used to live at his grandfathers place and that he will shoot the man if he ever gets the chance. This did raise a lot of questions as to who his father really is or if Gwaidhin is actually his family name, but whether or not Celtis knows, he is not sharing.
If there is one quote Celtis wouldn't mind saying, it would be: "Get real! When everyone is bailing out, you do not want to be the last one standing."
